Chart Viewer
Overview
The Chart Viewer is displayed after you select the appropriate columns for your chart and then click Create Chart. This article focuses on printing/saving the chart and filtering the chart contents.
File Menu
Save->File
Pops up a file save dialog allowing you to select a directory and file name for the new chart file. The visible size of the Chart Viewing will be determined by how large the file size will be.
Save->Excel Spreadsheet
A new feature for 6.3.5 allows you to embed your chart into a spreadsheet.
NOTE: This feature does not support existing functions or other excel features that may be embedded in your spreadsheet so they will be lost.
Choose a directory and filename to save your <chartName>.png. This is required to allow Excel to import the image.
Export the image to the spreadsheet by:
selecting the spreadsheet
choosing a tab either by proving the name or using the Existing Tab button to select from the existing spreadsheet
Add the row/column where the image should be added. Note that row in a row number starting with 1 and the column is alphabetic just like spreadsheet columns.
Select the Open button to open the spreadsheet after the image is inserted
Click the Insert button
Send->Email
Save the Chart as a PNG file and then send it to a defined email distribution list. To use this option you must first configure Email preferences in Preferences->Application->Email.
Click the Send Email button and enter a path to save the Chart PNG image to the filesystem. This prepares the image for attachment to the email and allows you to provide a user friendly name for the file.
After the Save button is clicked, the Send Email dialog is presented allowing you to choose the Host Connection and Email Distribution to use when send the email(s) to the users on the distribution list.
Displays a standard print dialog in which you can decide where to print the chart. The visible size of the Chart Viewing will be determined by how much of the chart will fit on one page so adjust the chart size first.
Filter
Filter provides a dynamic filtering capability for your chart. A filter list will be displayed for both category and legend (if selected) and allows you to dynamically choose which to display. To apply the filter, click the Apply button which will automatically be reflected in the Chart Viewer. To remove the filter, click the Remove button.
The filtered Pie Chart would only contain the selected May, June, July, August and September categories.
