Overview
Andi's Query Results provide access to view and manipulate data results for user friendly analysis. The ability to navigate, move, size, sort, and hide columns for efficient viewing and analyzing of data makes analysis that much simpler!
Select any of the following to learn more about manipulating Query Result columns:
Navigating Between Columns
When working with large result sets that have many columns of data, it can be challenging and time consuming to locate the desired column.
Andi includes a shortcut which will quickly scroll the entire Table for you! Simply select a column and enter the first letter of the desired column name. By continuing to select the same letter, Andi will scroll through each column that begins with that letter.
To move backwards through the columns, select the Shift key and press the first letter of the desired column name.
Note: To quickly navigate between individual columns in order, select a column to begin at, and then use the Tab button on your keyboard. To move backwards use the Shift-Tab button combination.
Moving and Sizing Columns
A column's position in the Query Results can be changed by left-clicking on the column and holding down the mouse button, while moving the column left or right.
You can also resize a column by left-clicking on the bar between two columns, and moving the cursor to resize to the desired width:
Sorting Columns
Andi includes full multi-column sorting capabilities for all tables. This makes it simple to sort by Numeric Ascending, Numeric Descending, Alpha Ascending, and Alpha Descending to easily provide the desired view of column data!
Single Ascending Column Sort
Select any column header with a single mouse click to add a single ascending columns sort:
Single Descending Column Sort
Select a column header twice and it will automatically become a descending sort:
Change Column Sort
By selecting another column when a column sort already exists, the first sort will be removed from the column, and the new column will take on an ascending sort (or select the new column twice to create a descending sort).
Multi-Column Sort
A multi-column sort can be created by selecting the first column, and then using the CTRL + Click method to select additional columns, which will add them to the sort. A number will be displayed next to the sorting indicator to identify the order of precedence for the columns:
Hiding Columns
Hiding unwanted columns from result sets make viewing and navigating key data much simpler.
To hide a single column, right mouse click on the desired column and select the menu option Hide Column:
To hide more than one column, right mouse click on one of the desired columns and select Hide Columns....
The option to select one or more columns from the Dynamic Column Header Update dialog is available. The left arrow buttons can be used to dynamically hide columns from view:
Note: The Dynamic Column Header Update dialog can be used at any time to make previously hidden columns visible again.
